Well-known weaver Marion Cruz weaved the vintage Papago / Tohono O'odham basket. This red yucca root and white yucca root basket has a 4 eagle or possibly pelican design. Pelicans are blown inland during monsoon season and are often found resting in ponds on the Reservation. Nicely woven on the front and back.
