Description

Large antique Pima willow and devils claw deep dish "harvesting" basket from the early 1900s. These large early baskets were originally woven for harvesting saguaro and prickly pear fruit to make wine for ceremonial dances and to harvest a variety of grains and seeds. This basket was sold to a collection c1900-1920 and preserved.

Antique Pima (c1920s) Fret design "winnowing tray" has a large traditional Pima devils claw base for extra durability in its traditional use. This is a very eye appealing basket and is in rare unused condition as it was pursued and preserved by early collector.
